In line with the educational policy that underscores the holistic development of students with disabilities, the Department of Education proudly hosts the Special School Kalotsavam. This event stands as a platform for students to nurture and showcase their inherent talents. More than a competition, the Kalotsavam embodies an artistic and literary haven, where students pour their hearts into their performances.

The success of this endeavor is a result of the unwavering dedication, encouragement, and special efforts of teachers, parents, and the broader community.

While we are proud of many of the prizes and achievements of our students every year , it is not our main focus. Rather, we treat it as an occasion for students to come together, socialize, and learn from peers across various schools.

Amidst the celebrations, students find the opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and bravely overcome both physical and mental challenges.

The event marks a significant departure from the conventional competitive spirit, focusing instead on creating a supportive atmosphere for growth.

The journey of the Special School Kalotsavam began in 1995-96, initiated by the State Public Education Department. This event was not only born from a vision but has also evolved through the years. The manual for the Special School Kalotsavam, first published in 2005-06, underwent revisions in 2009-10, and continues to adapt to seasonal changes. These adaptations are shaped by invaluable inputs from experts, teachers, parents, and stakeholders, further enhancing the event's impact and ensuring that its purpose remains steadfast.

The Special School Kalotsavam stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit of our educational community, offering a platform where diversity is celebrated, talents are nurtured, and growth is embraced.
